Post Post subject: Acrylic Audio Rack
How is acrylic rack suppose to fair compare to a normal MDF rack? I got an offer to buy acrylic racks at RM 500 per level, what is the verdict here?

Rm500 per level is expensive....

I doubt it can bring definite improvement to your system.

RM500 per rack is expensive, from what I heard its s'pose to do good to your system compared to glass, but what I dislike is they might turn yellowish after some time. Initially I wanted acrylic too but op for glass instead.

Cool I think he mentioned rm500 per level and not per rack, that's
even more expensive! If you want something really, really ultimate
and still less expensive than arcylics, there is something else you
could try, but needs some personal efforts to be put in!

Get those 4 legged steel racks/ black anodised or painted racks or
even the 4 legged rubber wood racks. Remove the mdf boards.
measure to size and get cut stone slabs marble or granite(Will have to
tune differently for the 2 types of stones) to be placed on top in
place of the mdf boards. Then do the usual equipments isolations
with cones, damping devices and boutique type isolation devices.
The results are more far fetching than arcylics, mdf or even glass!
Again go listen to such system using these stone slab/racks/
elaborate isolation tweaks and listen for yourselves. I do find
audiophiles only want to believe when they get to sample the sound!
