Post Post subject: Music of classical" Erich Kunzel and Cincinnati Pops&qu
Hi, i wonder have any of you guys out there that have came across this CD from TERLAC " Erich Kunzel" if i spell his name right, with his Cincinnati Orchestra ?
I tell you, I just love the music that he makes and conducts. By right my dad bought this CD a long time ago but we didn’t have a hifi to listen. Just listen it through the Sanyo micro Hifi system.
At that time I was like, what’s the difference.
Then in the end, about 3 years ago, we eventually set up own sound room and bought a package starting at RM 5000.00. It was awesome. Me, my dad and the Hifi.
Pack with SET valve, pre and power. The humble sound stage vacuum2 preamp and stage 3 power amp. A humble 12 Watts output but could drive my first audiophile speaker, Kef Cresta 2. CD Player was a beginners CD2100 from CEC. Can’t change the power cord. Too bad.

So back to the CD, This CD is mainly the collect of his best music, it includes sound tracks from Batman, StarWars and Star Trek. Also Pink Panther theme, God Father Theme and various artist.

It is like a CD that has a lot of mixture of sound and best of all it has special effects.
Mind you, it does have a warning on certain tracks not to play too loud.

Well it only lacks the Jazz music, Hey what am I saying, it is a classical Orchestra for got sakes. Anyway all tracks are great to listen to.
The arrangement is pretty cool. You start of with some animal sound from the West. You know the American Cowboy thing.
No Red Indians but cows everywhere. If u have the stage, this will show how many cows are there in front of you. Then the horse rider will run from left to right and the music starts. Well it kind of get really loud somewhere in the middle of the music so bear in mind the volume level. Then it finishes with some gun shots and lastly vroom!!! .
Track 2 is opening of Sunrise and followed by Star Trek.
And the list goes on and on and on. Some tracks are slow and there is a tendency of reaching the remote and press the forward buttons.

Other than that you will probably enjoy this CD.
Some of the tracks like Phantom Of the Opera theme has thunder sound and scary creepy effects and this I would love to play it loud. It gets into under your skin u know.

Then lastly you will come almost to the end of the CD and terminator Theme is a good one with special effects and thumping of the machine and laser firing sounds.

And the very last track, play as loud as your amp and speaker can take. A big T REX coming from far distance and gobble up the meat with bone breaking sound and lastly it ends with a loud burp.
Hehe..
I always listen this CD till the very last drop of it. Really enjoying listening it all over and over again.
Somehow I don’t feel boring. Well you should try if u have the chance. It really does bring the speaker to its performance.

If you like Erich Kunzel's work, there's plenty of it in the Telarc catalog. Mostly available in Tower Records and other specialist CD shops.

For me, I started my classical journey with Erich Kunzel as well, but currently growing very fond of his predecessor, Authur Fieldler.

You can get AF100 & Friends at the Tower Records, just to sample some of his works.

cool...
At least some hifi kaki's out there know who is mr kunzel.
Thanks man for telling me where to get.

Which tower records that you are refering to ?

I went to 1 u tower records, sunway piramid, hmm, they sell more other
cds,
Kind of hard to find good telarc recordings,
BY the way, i bought another recording for beethoven and lizt from Borders book store in times square. Ony had 3 tracks man, and i paid like rm 65 bucks or so, all because of the cannon special effects,
from telarc, and from erich kunzel, but only last 30 minutes or so.

and it is really old recording, the title is battle music.
not as worth as the best collection.

Im trying to find the johan strauss fest for the fireworks, cant find them, the effects are really good. also by telarc.
I wonder have you heard of them,
i got into it last year show with the Von Schwikert audio VR 4 SR with Conrad Johnson. and transparent opus mm, the best of the best you can get in the show. i wonder anyone here has listen to them. hehe, when you listen to this, you will never forget that feeling. like you just fell in love with a very beautiful system.

i will look into this guy that u talk about,
anyway have you got any to reconmend besides them.

Sonyman,

I normally get my classical fix from two places.

1) Tower Records Suria KLCC more variety but rather expensive.

2) Action Valley Trading. The shop owner is James and he has a lot of Telarcs, Duesch Gramaphone and other audiophile CDs.

Shop is located in Lot 3001, 3rd Floor, Endah Parade, 57000 Sri Petaling KL.

Good luck.
